Bev was lucky to be born in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside spending her early years playing alongside the banks of the River Wye. Later when her dads work commitments forced a move to Windsor she spent most of her time with friends in the grounds of Windsor castle and the Great Park. This is where she developed a great love of the outdoors and a passion for all things floral.
Bev gave up work to become a full time mum and stayed at home until her daughter Rebecca became independent. Then she returned to full time education at Dudley College and Wolverhampton University where she did a modular degree studying Psychology, History, Politics and Sociology.
In 2007 through hard work and determination Bev was finally able to realise her lifelong ambition to open a retail Flower Shop. The Flower Fairie is situated in Gornal Wood, a small village in the heart of Dudley the Black Country. Over the years the business has grown from strength to strength and has established an excellent reputation for unusual designs, high quality flowers and amazing customer service.
Bev has also worked hard to build strong relationships with other local business and she is proud to be recommended by her local funeral directors J R Jones.
Bev is extremely proud of The Flower Fairies award winning reputation. Awards including a Chelsea Gold Medal, Best Business of 2017, Best Valentines Florist by Radio WM and several awards for best dressed window.
Bev often spends her days off learning new techniques and updating her floral skills and knowledge. She has also been very fortunate to travel to Europe to assist one of Britain’s most respected florists Laura Leong. Working in Belgium and in the Diocletian Palace Croatia means Bev has witnessed some of Europe’s finest designers at work. Bev is certain that all of this has only been possible because she has an amazing support network of family and friends to whom she will be forever grateful.
